Learning to Bow

What does it mean to bow?   Ive been learning in my bible study on Daniel by Beth Moore, that we are in a world that pushes Self Indulgence, Self Importance. and a focus on being the Elite, in the "in crowd". Our culture is all about ME. The Common Day Babylon...aiming to seduce. Posing, plotting, intoxicating, with a false sense of religion. We have learned the Babylonian Motto is ‘I am, and there is none besides me.  What is bowing mean, is it a feeling of inferiority, superiority? Well, I guess that would depend upon who is the one doing the bowing, but is it?

Bowing to a culture of false teachings, conforming to what image is being portrayed as the new normal. Or building yourself up so that others look to you and bow at your power, your status, your beauty.  All of this is how we walk through life.  There always seems to be someone who you dont measure up too, and someone who is always trying to measure up to you. But is that truly what God had intended for our lives?  Where is our focus?  Who should we bow to?  Answer. Christ alone.  And when we do this it helps shape our priorities. It helps us keep our eyes on Him during our journey.  Ive learned this....In Bowing down, He is lifted up!

Bowing down can release me of so much hurt.  It can free me from trying to conform to what everyone around me wants me to be.  I can rest in his arms knowing that if I bow to Him, the one who is Right, Merciful, and Just, I dont have to fight battles that come before me.  It says in Galations 3:29 ~If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.  I am a child of God.  He loves me.  No matter who wants to tear me down, or smear my name, if I focus on Him, I can trust that He is fighting for me.  But if I try to take the control and spread my own hurts around, by gossip and ill will, I take the fight, and tie Gods hands to move.  When I think of it that way, I wonder why on earth would I want to try to make my little world right in my eyes, when Gods ways are far better then my own.  His ways are Just...His ways are perfect.  If I let go, and let God, He will work in my life and the lives around me in the way that is good.  It says in 1 Peter 5:6  ~ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Beth Moore says it perfectly... He knows. He Acts. and best of all, HE HEALS!!!

So I am choosing today to let God fight, while I bow!

Unplugged

Hello Friends and Family.

Today embarks my very first Blog! :) I have no idea how to start this, and how its going to work. But I wanted to try this, in order to keep my ability to share things that are going on in our world.  SO here goes! :)

What does Unplugged mean to you?  To me, it is as simple as turning the gadgets of todays high tech world OFF!  And that is just what we did today.

Christian and I had a fun day exploring outside. Digging in Rocks was one of our explorations.  We dug them out of the ground, and filled our pail with them. Counting over and over to 10.  Although Christians favorite numbers are 5 & 6, I kept telling him that there are other numbers too. We played on his power wheels too (I didnt get a picture of this, cause mama wanted to be unplugged too and left the camera phone inside while we played- so this is a picture of his new power wheels at his Birthday Party! )

My cool new F150, Just like my Dad!

Next we went to the back yard to see what we could find.  Christian is very independent and likes to go where he wants when he wants, and leaves me to follow.  In this exploring activity, I decided that was just fine with me and watched him find rocks, and water puddles, toys and pine cones.  I did NOT expect what happened next....as Christian was getting ready to walk down the stairs, off the deck, I was trying to fix a leg on our outside coffee table, and all of the sudden a little frog jumped out from the bottom of table right onto my leg. Boy did I let out a screech...Christian quickly turned around to see what happened, and we both laughed when we saw the frog jump off of me and away as fast as he could.

Then we decided to take a trip to the Library today for our first story/craft time! Boy it was fun to see Christian so happy to see these new kids. He was so gentle in going up to them and giving them both hugs. As I stood close by, hoping that he wouldnt then turn around and hit or push them! But today was a good day!

Of course I had high hopes that Christian would sit in my lap and listen as the Librarian read him a story....

However Christian did not have any intention of sitting with me, and he decided to take a tour around the room, and do everything but sit and listen to the story.

Showing off for my new friend Madison!
 Going to explore...
Taking a break to listen to the story from a far...
How do I get these doors open?

After the attempted escape from the room, he joined us for a little singing time and then on to Craft time at the table.  Todays Craft~ Thomas the Train Goodie bags.

Ok mom, I got my papers, lets go!!
Oh, we have to color them, OK! :)
Look at my new bag, shh, I put my cookies in there!

Afterwards we took a tour around the Library. I think Christian is going to want to keep coming back! He made himself quite comfy in the Teen Zone. I bet he would like one of these in his playroom.

We Love you!
